Know the limits

Estimates, assumptions, and disclaimers

See the limits of our financial models, car-value scenarios, tax estimates, inspection checklist, and guides before using them to inform a used-car decision.

01

Informational use

The site provides general educational information, not individualized financial, tax, legal, insurance, or mechanical advice. Consult a qualified professional or the appropriate authority when the decision requires expertise or current local rules.

02

Vehicle values

Car-worth and trade-in tools use a disclosed generic depreciation model. They are not appraisals, live prices, guaranteed offers, or licensed vehicle-specific valuations. Their ranges are illustrative bands, not statistically validated confidence intervals. Inspect the actual car and compare credible local evidence.

03

Loans, budgets, and taxes

Loan results assume fixed monthly interest periods and may differ from daily-interest contracts and lender rounding. APR can differ from the contractual interest rate. Affordability percentages are planning guidelines and not lending approval criteria.

The tax calculator applies a user-entered rate to a user-defined taxable base. It does not maintain current state rates or implement every jurisdiction’s rules. Verify rates, fees, credits, exemptions, and the taxable amount with an official authority.

04

Inspection and source limits

Checklist progress measures observations recorded, not safety or reliability. A completed checklist or clean history report cannot replace an independent professional inspection. Source links support general context and are not endorsements of every modeling choice. The site makes no claim of expert review unless a real reviewer and scope are explicitly identified.
